Unit 12-Week 6

Practitioners Report

This week we continued on with the work we did in previous weeks. But looked at four practitioners, two early and contemporary practitioners. The early practitioners were Walt Disney (the actual person) and the early works of Hayao Miyazaki. My contemporary practitioners are Pixar and Isao Takahata, primarily his latest work “The Tale of Princess Kaguya”. I focused on this piece because it is Takahata most recent director’s role. I researched into these practitioners past works and modern works and created a timeline/infographic that presents the information clearly.

  1. Joel, you have chosen some relevant practitioners here although you only needed to select two – you must ensure that you understand the requirements of the brief you have been set and if you have any questions or need any clarification, please make sure that you ask. Furthermore, while you have presented your work in a creative layout, this information is somewhat rudimentary. You have included some basic details of the biography of your practitioners but you have provided a limited analysis of their work in terms of materials, processes and techniques. Of greater concern is your complete lack of a bibliography. What were the sources of your information? At this stage in your academic career you should be accustomed to providing a list of sources, presented in the Harvard style. Please ensure that you include this with all work in the future.
